Kurt Lightner’s (b.1971) continued exploration into his childhood and his hometown environment of rural Ohio is evident in his paintings and sculptures. Visually referencing his family’s agrarian past, these works depict the interiors of his grandparents’ barn structures, drawing parallels and disparities between the rituals performed within them to those of baroque cathedrals.
He is the recipient of the Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant. Kurt lives and works in New York City.
